  • No Hexane
Most poultry producers use hexane-processed soybeans as a cheap source of chicken feed. But hexane pollutes the air and environment. We keep chemicals out of our feed.
  • No DDGS
DDGS is a protein alternative producers can get at a lower cost than corn. Antibiotics are used to control bacteria in the fermentation process. Some antibiotics remain in the DDGS. We use only corn and soybeans for protein. Period.
  • 100% Air Chilled
Our air chill method eliminates the need for chilled chlorinated water that most producers use, which ends up in your chicken.
  • No Hormones
This product is free from artificial growth hormones.
  • No Junk
This product is made with no fillers, no preservatives and no artificial flavors—in other words, no junk.
  • No Antibiotics
Bell & Evans is the first company to raise 100% of our flocks without antibiotics—from the egg throughout the chicken’s entire lifespan.
“I was at a different Whole Foods then the one I go to on a regular basis and they didn't carry your whole chicken so I bought one of theirs. Never again. Going forward if it is not your chicken I will do without. Your chickens are far superior to the rest. Keep up the good work!!” – DeLisha P. (Facebook)

Hands down, no competition, the best chicken there is.

Always ate grocery store chicken, and it started to make me sick a couple years ago.

Went vegetarian for a while and then a few months ago we found Bell & Evan’s.

We can eat any of the Bell & Evan’s products and not have any negative side effects like we get with other chicken.

I have bought Bell & Evans chicken products for the last two months because of GuGa Foods YouTube channel recommendation. Delicious I must say. I’m never going back to eating any other chicken brand to cook at home if I’m buying. I even gave a friend of mine a whole chicken and his wife said it made the best chicken and dumplings she had ever cooked in her life. So now you have two new customers.

  5. says:

My wife found one of your chickens in a local Stop and Shop yesterday. We cooked it last night. It was hands down the best chicken we have ever tasted!! Congrats and keep up the excellent work!! Leftovers tonight – can’t wait!!

Sometimes the chickens contain giblets and sometimes they do not. How can I tell the difference?

    1. Hi KS, We understand your desire for the giblets to be in your whole chicken purchases and you are not alone in that. Unfortunately, because we also sell giblets separately in bulk, there are times when we do not have the giblets to include in the whole chickens. Also, if the giblets do not meet our quality standards we will not be included with the chicken. When available, we do continue to include the giblets. At this time, we are not equipped to run different packaging stating if or not giblets are included.

        No “review” but a question.
What do you feed your regular chickens? We thought we were buying an organic chicken from a butcher only to find out it was a regular one. From reviews, the regular check is sound superb, but I’m just wondering about what they eat.

        1. Hi Jackie! All of our chickens start out on all-organic feed at our Organic, Animal Welfare focused Hatchery. After arriving at the chicken houses, the organic chickens continue to get organic feed, while regular chickens do not get organic feed. Our feed is an all natural blend of corn and expeller pressed soybeans, and sometimes contains cinnamon, yucca and oregano oil to aid in proper gut health. Please see the section of our website for more information on our organic feed: https://www.bellandevans.com/our-farms/#feed

I’ve been buying this chicken forever. It really is the best out there. None of the slimy gunk found in other chickens, no artifical coloring – just good chicken. My Mom, raised in NC, swore there was no difference in chicken. I sent her some. After cooking, she called me to “eat crow” because she agreed there was definitely a difference in the quality and taste. She’s a convert. Thank you for such an excellent product in a time when everyone else is trying to cut corners and pass off substandard food on the public. Customer for life.

    1. Thank you so much, Dierdre!

  8. says:

The chickens are always great, but where’s the liver? No liver in the last 3-4 chickens. How can you sell a “whole” chicken without a liver?

    1. Hi Jim, we understand your desire for the giblets to be in your whole chicken purchases and you are not alone in that. Unfortunately, because we also sell giblets separately in bulk, there are times when we do not have the giblets to include in the whole chickens. Also, if the giblets do not meet our quality standards they will not be included with the chicken. When available, we do continue to include the giblets. At this time, we are not equipped to run different packaging stating if or not giblets are included.

  9. says:

If the giblets are inside, are they wrapped in paper or plastic? My chicken is still frozen shut at the legs and I can’t see if they are in there!

    1. Hi Kim! We do package our giblets in a paper bag. We do not suggesting cooking the bird with the bag inside. We can not suggest the chicken would be safe to eat.

  10. says:

I got one in August (2023). It’s frozen now.
I read reviews and I’m confused.
Are giblets in or there are no giblets?
I think you should have written that info above in description part.

    We love Bell&Evans chickens.
    The best!
Just haven’t tried the whole chicken before..

    1. Hi Melissa, during harvest, giblets are removed from the chicken for separate processing and sometimes not able to be repackaged with the bird. We make every attempt to sell whole birds with giblets but cannot make the guarantee.
